Description

A compilaton of correspondence and written works of one of the central figures of the Baha'i Faith.

'Abdu'l-Baha, meaning "Servant of the Glory," is the title assumed by 'Abbas Effendi (1844-1921) - the eldest son and appointed successor of Baha'u'llah, the Prophet and Founder of the Baha'i Faith. After His father's passing in 1892, 'Abdu'l-Baha assumed leadership of the worldwide Baha'i community until the time of his own passing in 1921. During that time he corresponded with Baha'is all over the world, providing them with an abundance of practical and spiritual guidance. The works collected here cover a wide range of topics, including physical and spiritual health, death and the afterlife, the spiritual reality of humankind, the oneness of humanity, and the elimination of prejudice. The wisdom imparted in this volume remains as timeless and relevant today as when it was first committed to paper.

About the Author

Abdu'l-Baha, meaning in Arabic "Servant of the Glory," was the title assumed by 'Abbas Effendi (1844-1921), the eldest son and appointed successor of Baha'u'llah, the Prophet and Founder of the Baha'i Faith. A prisoner since the age of nine, 'Abdu'l-Baha shared a lifetime of imprisonment and exile with his father at the hands of the Ottoman Empire. He spent his entire life in tireless service to, and promotion of, Baha'u'llah's teachings.
