About the Author

Andrea Cataldo has been an Associate Professor of Electric and Electronic Measurements at the University of Salento since 2014, and has been a Faculty Member of the Department of Engineering for Innovation at the same university since 2005. With more than 150 publications, including several books, book chapters and articles published in internationally respected journals and conference proceedings, he is also the co-founder of the spin-off company MoniTech S.r.l. at the University of Salento. His research interests include: reflectometry and microwave measurement techniques, uncertainty evaluation, and the characterization and optimization of sensors. Egidio De Benedetto has been an Associate Professor of Electrical and Electronic Measurements at the University of Naples Federico II, Italy, since 2017. From 2010 to 2012, he worked at the Institute of Microelectronics and Microsystems of the National Research Council, Italy. From 2012 to 2017, he was a Research Fellow at the University of Salento. His research interests include: the dielectric characterization of materials and the development of microwave reflectometry systems for monitoring applications. Nicola Giaquinto is an Associate Professor of Electrical and Electronic Measurements at the Politecnico di Bari, Italy. Throughout his career he has taught many courses, such as: electronic instrumentation and measurement methods, algorithms and mathematical methods for measurements, reliability and statistical control, and design and implementation of automatic measurement systems. With more than 200 publications, he is also the Rector's Delegate for managing mobility projects, and for developing strategies and policies fostering international activities at the Politecnico di Bari. His research interests include: digital signal processing, statistical estimation theory and techniques, and uncertainty evaluation. Giuseppe Cannazza, Antonio Masciullo, Alessandro De Monte, Federico Gaetani, Gianluca Parisi, Ilaria Lorenzo, Jacopo Nicolazzo and Maria Teresa Meo are a group of master's and PhD students who were actively involved, together with Prof. Cataldo, in the preparation and compilation of the laboratory experiments this book is based on.
