This story shows kids how Dave discovered strength and success hiding inside of his weaknesses. It echoes the lessons of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Dumbo; the characterstics that make us weak and weird are the same ones that make us strong and unique. Instead of trying to eliminate our unusual qualities, we need to embrace them and amplify them.
